Coral Reefs

Coral reefs provide a very intricate environment for thousands of amazing creatures. Did you know that by 2050 all of our coral reefs will be in danger of death? Resent studies show that about 20% of our reefs have died. What causes harm to these precious little underwater cities? WE DO! With all of our pollution of the ocean water and with climate change were nocking out important ecosystem one by one. We are single handedly destroying a quarter of the oceans species. Now you may be asking what can we do to save the coral reefs ? Well there are countless environment conservation programs that you can donate to but all in all what people should really do is not litter and we should be banning things that we do that pollutes the ocean.
This is a comparison of a flourishing reef and a destroyed reef. really is depressing to see something that beautiful being destroyed.

 VW Rat Rod

Last summer my dad and I started working on a 1963 Volkswagen beetle. It has blue paint with a bunch of rust and its awesome!
It took us a bit to get the wiring figured out so that we could see if the engine was any good and sure enough as soon as we got some gass in it, it started and we were driving it with in a couple weeks. Then my pops went to work in the bahamas soo we didnt work on it for a while and it just kinda sat out at his granite shop for about a year. So now that hes back we have it in the front yard and its been really fun working on it. We thought the engine was rusted and no good but we mannaged to get it runing agin. Right now were waiting for some pars to ship here for the steering. Hopefully well have it running this summer and start turning it into a rat rod.

In the end we want it to look something like this, no finders with a choped top and extended front end.

What happened today in history?

Today in history quite a few things went down. In 1957 the Russians sent a Siberian husky named Laika into space aboard the sputnik 2 spacecraft. It survived on a life support system for several days until the batteries ran out, then she died. The scientists obtained very useful information concerning how the body changes in space. Before the program she was a stray living on the streets of Moscow. About a dozen more dogs were sent into space before they could sent the first maned space flight.
This here is Laika in her little machine about to make history.

The Fossa

Do you remember in the movie Madagascar the line "the fossa are attacking!" ? Well if you did you may be asking what the hell is a fossa?
This my friends, is the Fossa. Fossa's are cat like animals that are from the forests of Madagascar.
These animals are special because they are related to the mongoose family and are found no where else in the world. They are the largest mammal on the island other than Zebras, Lions, Hippos and Jirraffes (Madagascar the movie reference).  They feast on lemurs and other primates on the island as well as birds, lizards, and pretty much any little critter it can get its paws on. I think these guys are really cool looking but are very low in population. This means theres a high chance of extinction.

Kepler-452b

Kepler-452b is a planet what shares a bunch of similar qualities with earth.  It is 1400 light years away making it mostly impossible for us to travel there but if we were able to make it to this planet it is so similar to earth that we could live there. it is about 6 times the size of earth causing it to have a very strong gravitational pull compared to earth. This would cause you to feel about 2 times as heavy on Kepler than earth. If you were to live there your body would experience a lot of change, your bones and muscles would start to get very strong from having to support twice the amount it was original used to.  This is one of the many possibly habitable planets out there now we just to figure out how to travel at light speed in space and then maybe it will be possible to go explore places like this.

Poison Dart Frogs

Poison Dart Frogs are very small colorful and poisonous frogs. These frogs are found in tropical rain forests of south and central America. Most people are drawn to their vibrant neon colors but animals avoid these small creatures due to their extremely poisonous skin which contains lipophilic alkaloid. All of these frogs are poisonous, but some not as much as others. These toxic chemicals are easily able to kill a grown man.
This photo of a captive female frog just shows how amazing these little guys looks up close. For some more cool facts watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3nCgbqXqzo

Today I want to talk about Chris Joslin a new pro skater. Plan B is the board company which he now rides pro for. He turned pro in september 2015 which was long awaited by many of his fans because he was to good to be just a am anymore. His video part in TRUE is one of the best put together parts i've seen. You can watch his part in Plan B TRUE on Netflix. He is from California where he grew up raised by his grandma. As a kid he would skate his local park all day every day.
This shows how dedicated he was to skating at such a young age. Now he is one of the best street skaters alive and he is truly an insperation.
